I believe that the Bible in its entirety is the inspired word of God. I believe it is without error and His message to mankind, and it is our primary source of knowing who God is. We can’t know Him without knowing His word, and we can’t discern error without knowing the truth.
I believe in the eternal existence of the Godhead in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and that these are the one God, having precisely the same nature and attributes.
I believe that God the Father, the first person of the Trinity, has decreed for His own glory all things that come to pass and governs all creatures and events. As The Father, I believe Him to be the Creator of Heaven and Earth, and decreed all things under His rule and sovereign plan. I believe that as he willed that The Son, Jesus Christ, to die so that all who believe in His sacrifice as atonement for their sins would be given adoption as His own.
I believe that the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, was born of a virgin as the perfect man Jesus Christ, yet He retained His absolute deity, being at the same time very God and very man. I believe He lives eternally before time, but became man for the purpose of dying on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. Through His resurrection, He conquered sin and death, and became the Redeemer of all those who place their trust in Him. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. I believe that He is the only way to salvation, and in His personal return to earth to judge the living and the dead.
The Holy Spirit
I believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity, exists eternally and in the heart of every believer. I believe that He made His presence on Earth within believers at the day of Pentecost. He unites all believers in Christ in one body and He is the believer’s source of all power and all acceptable worship and service.
I believe that man was originally created in the image and the likeness of God, but he fell from grace from the original sin of the first man, Adam. Through the consequences of sin came every form of evil in the world. We are all born with this sin nature and are naturally in need of a Savior to be acceptable before a holy God. Without Christ, the ultimate consequence to sin is death, both physically and spiritually.
I believe that no one may enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born again. This new birth is a gift of God which comes through faith alone, by Christ alone. It is not dependant upon any good deed or works, but that these virtues come as a result of the Holy Spirit’s guidance and gratitude and obedience of the believer. I believe that mankind is incapable of responding in faith without the Holy Spirit’s intervention to open one’s mind and heart to respond.
Election and Eternal Security
I believe that in eternity past, God, in His sovereign good pleasure, and not based upon any foreseen merit in man, chose certain people (the elect) to be recipients of eternal salvation. God causes and wills these individuals to receive salvation, withdrawing their deserved judgement as sinful men. Once saved, the elect are secure for eternity. There is nothing that the believer can do to lose his salvation.
The Sovereignty of God
I believe that all things fall under the rule of God, both past, present, and future. I believe that although He is not the author of evil, He has ordained and allowed all things to ultimately work for the good and towards His glory. I believe God orchestrates and ordains the events of the world and the circumstances of man to His ultimate purposes.
The Christian Walk
I believe that Christians are called to be in the world but not of the world. They are set apart to walk according to the Holy Spirit and to live lives that are demonstrative of His power and guidance. There is a calling upon the Christian to live for eternal purposes, to share the full Gospel and exercise their spiritual gifts and abilities to their full use. I believe that a life lived in this manner will demonstrate the gradual and inevitable refining to become more reflective of Christ’s character and likeness.
I believe that there is only one life on earth and then after death there is judgement. Each one will be judged according to their relationship with Christ, whether they have believed and trusted in Him or not. Those who have believed are given eternal life with God, free of sin and suffering. I also believe in the reality of hell, which is eternally reserved for all who have not believed and trusted in Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation.
